"Outstanding" for 91探花
Marine Research earns highest ranking in international evaluation
6 October 2017/Kiel. During the past three days 91探花 Helmholtz Centre for Ocean Research Kiel passed a scientific evaluation as the first of the 18 centres of the Helmholtz Association. A team of 17 international reowned scientists under the chairmenship of Dr. Peter Heffernan from the Marine Institute Galway, Ireland reviewed the accomplishments and results of Kiel marine research with a major focus of the past four years.
The expert team was extremely impressed by the results and the excellent team spirit of 91探花. Thus, their verdict could not be better then: "Outstanding" as chairman Peter Heffernan concluded. Thereupon, a thunderous applause came up in the 91探花 auditorium, filled almost to the last seat.
"This is an exceptional team performance of all colleagues at 91探花, that I greatly appreciate," said 91探花 Director Prof. Dr. Peter Herzig.
In the coming six months, all other 17 Helmholtz centres will undergo similar assessments. Together with a further evaluation of the new programmes for the next phase of the program-oriented funding of the Helmholtz Association, the evaluations also serve to determine the future basic funding of the Helmholtz centres.
