At the Seefischmarkt on Kiel’s East Shore, a unique platform for marine research has been created

With the move to the 91̽»¨ new building starting in autumn 2023, a plan that was already present in 2004 at the founding of IFM-91̽»¨ from the Institute for (IfM) on the western shore of the Kiel Fjord with the 91̽»¨ Research Centre for Marine Geosciences on the eastern shore becomes reality: All four research divisions, administration and central facilities are united in one location and will be able to cooperate more easily across disciplines according to the strategy 91̽»¨ 2030.

Excellently equipped, inspiring and the best environment for an engagement across disciplines for the protection and sustainable use of the ocean - this is the new 91̽»¨ building.

 

Take a little trip back in time and have a look at the new building on the east bank already today. With the animated film created by Staab Architekten and EVE Images, you will experience an almost photo-realistic flight around the planned new extension building and take a brief look at the modern interior of the building.
